RAFFLE RULES

1. Eligibility: The raffle is open to individuals who are U.S. Residents and 18 years of age or older.

2. Ticket Purchase: Raffle tickets can be purchased for $25 per ticket. Tickets may be purchased in person from a Georgetown Volunteer Fire Co. member or through the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Co. online store. All sales are final and no refunds are offered. Tickets purchased online will be sent via email. Please allow 14 days for delivery.

3. Winning Odds: The odds of winning are based on the number of tickets sold, not to exceed a total of 5000 tickets. If fewer tickets are sold, the chance of winning the Grand Prize improves. 

4. Raffle Period: The raffle will begin on June 1, 2026 at 12:00am EST and end on October 4, 2026, at 3:00pm EST. All ticket purchases must be made within this period. Online sales will close on October 4th at 2:00pm EST.

5. Prize: The 1st place prize for the raffle will be a brand new 2026 Black Ford F150 XLT upgraded with the Black Appearance Plus package. Vehicle is valued at $59,663.20 (including CT sales tax and license fees). The vehicle and its options may not be substituted. 2nd place prize $500 Do It Best Gift Card. 3rd place prize $250 Amazon Gift Card. Prizes not to be redeemable for cash. Prizes are not transferable. 

6. Drawing: The raffle drawing will take place on October 4, 2026, at 3:30pm EST, at the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Co. The winner will be selected randomly from all eligible raffle tickets purchased. Winner need not be present to win.

7. Winner Notification: The winner will be notified by phone, email, or in person, using the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase. If the winner cannot be reached within 15 days or fails to claim the prize 30 days from notification, the prize will be forfeited. The 1st place winner must travel at their own expense to McMahon Ford, Norwalk, CT to claim and pick up their vehicle.

8. Taxes and Fees: The winner will be responsible for all federal and state income taxes, fees, and costs associated with the prize. Per IRS Notice 1340, the grand prize winner will be required to provide their tax ID on IRS form W-9, and The Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company is required to collect withholding of 24% of the value of the vehicle from the winner. The 24% withholding amount will be paid to the IRS on behalf of the winner and a W-2G will be issued to the winner for tax reporting purposes. If the winner is a CT resident, CT requires Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company collect withholding of 6.99% which will be paid to the state of CT and listed on the W-2G. The Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company will not provide any financial or legal advice regarding tax or other financial matters related to the prize.

9. Use of Funds: The proceeds from the raffle will be used to support the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company’s fundraising efforts and operations. Some of the proceeds will be used to cover the cost of the prizes and other expenses associated with the raffle.

10. Rules and Regulations: By participating in the raffle, entrants agree to abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company, including but not limited to the terms and conditions of the raffle, as stated in the raffle materials and on the organization’s website.

11. Legal Requirements: The raffle will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to Connecticut state laws governing charitable gaming and fundraising activities.
